The long-awaited return for NPL3 football is closing in as we examine all the opening round fixtures that will be coming our way this weekend.

And just like that, the six-month break has passed us by. A whole lot of thrills and spills await as we look ahead to all the matches taking place around the grounds this weekend.

Rydalmere Lions FC and Canterbury Bankstown FC will square off against each other in this competition for the first time when they meet at VSP #2 on Sunday night at 7pm.

Both sides have revamped over the off-season and will also feature new coaches as Rydalmere’s Gavin Rae comes up against Wally Savor who has taken charge of Canterbury Bankstown.

Both coaches will want to have a positive start to their respective campaigns with Sunday’s fixture set to be the first indicator as to how these teams have reacted since being relegated.

Keep an eye out for the Lions’ Ali Mckie and Dillan Kahale as they come up against the experienced Berries duo of Enol Suarez and Josh Gersbach.
